Abstract

The findings also indicate that athletes in individual sports were less likely to engage in digital training than athletes in team sports and that older athletes are more likely to participate in virtual competitions than younger athletes. Female athletes were more likely to participate in online training than male athletes, while male athletes were more likely to participate in virtual sports competitions than female athletes. On a global scale, the different national approaches to Covid-19 led to radically different conditions for sport and physical activity athletes, exercisers, sport managers, event organizers, supporters and others.
