Abstract

The patient-oriented eczema measure: development and initial validation of a new tool for measuring atopic eczema severity from the patients' perspective. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic disease with a strong impact on patients and their families.1 Clinical severity is usually evaluated by the clinician; however, it may be perceived in a different way by the patient and the caregiver. Kappa < 0 represents disagreement, 0-0.20 very low agreement, 0.21-0.40 low agreement, 0.41-0.60 moderate agreement, 0.61-0.80 strong agreement and 0.80-1.00 almost total agreement.
