Abstract

The article discusses the study regarding the adsorption characteristics of trihalomethanes onto activated carbon fiber from quarternary mixture solution, in Japan. According to sources, chlorination of water has been contributed to prevent people from infectious diseases, but in recent years, it has been reported that trihalomethanes (THM) are produced during chlorination in the water purification process. The study aims to determine the adsorption characteristics of THM onto active carbon fiber (ACF) from mixture solution for the safety of drinking water. It has been concluded that the amount of THM adsorbed onto ACF was not affected by the physical properties of the adsorbent.
