Abstract

Meidaizhao, located in Tumote Right Banner, Inner Mongolia, is currently the only existing Tibetan Buddhist temple in China where "man and god live together, city and temple are combined". Meidaizhao has a long history and profound background, and its architectural space is unique. While maintaining the connection with the believers, it also symbolizes the unique religious culture and has very important research value. This article investigates and sorts out the overall layout and spatial relationship of the buildings in the Meidaizhao temple from the perspective of ritual. Through the analysis of the mutual relationship between the space and the ritual behavior in the temple, it explores the rich meaning and etiquette characteristics of the buildings of the Meidaizhao temple. It also exemplifies the deep connection between architectural space and ceremony. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
