Abstract
- In order to automate the ground maneuvering of a civil regional aircraft and improve the efficiency of the air transport system, a fly-by-wire nose wheel steering system (NWSS) was designed. A rack and pinion steering mechanism integrated with a single actuator mechanism was proposed. The basic control circuit diagram with integrated test, the electro-hydraulic system diagram, and the mathematical model of the steering system were established and analyzed. A co-simulation model of the system was built to verify the control law. The results show that the properties of the prototype meet the design requirements. Given the importance of the NWSS, the simulation results can be used to optimize the basic design parameters. This methodology can also be used for other types of aircraft. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
