Abstract
- In discussions on energy consumption in buildings, it is frequently argued that the climate-oriented approaches of traditional architecture are a suitable model. Climate-oriented solutions in traditional buildings are rooted in the lessons from several generations of experience, using local material, technology and labour, without sacrificing comfort. They are also responsive to their natural environment and energy-efficient. This study identifies climate-responsive design approaches in the traditional Tabriz houses, located in the cold-arid climatic zone. For this purpose, 10 traditional houses identified in various studies were examined and compared. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
