Abstract

The funding was channelled via an equity investment and preceded a $750 million dual-tranche financing facility that Emirates agreed with government-owned bank Emirates NBD in October. For the six months to 30 September Emirates Airline reported a half-year net loss of AED5.8 billion, an improvement from AED12.6 billion in the prior-year period. Emirates expects to return to profit next year and repay some state support, its chief executive officer, Tim Clark, has told reporters. [Extracted from the article]
