Abstract
- I recorded Ray Charles in 1951 and in 2013 I have a CD out of Latimore singing Ray Charles. Almost all his contemporaries - the men who founded Atlantic, Chess, Modern, Vee Jay and other pioneering independent R&B labels - were no longer of this world and Henry had tales he wanted to tell. Oddly, TK Records hasn't been venerated or reissued in the same way Stax, Motown and other R&B labels have. From here he built his empire: in the 70s he scored huge international hits with Rock Your Baby, Clean Up Woman, (That's The Way) I Like It and Ring My Bell. [Extracted from the article]
