Asymptotic normalization coefficients in nuclear reactions and nuclear astrophysics.

The asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) is a fundamental nuclear characteristic of bound states and resonances. The ANC plays an important role in low-energy elastic scattering, transfer and radiative capture reactions, and provides a powerful indirect method in nuclear astrophysics. In this comprehensive review the main properties of the ANC and the role of the ANC in nuclear reactions and nuclear astrophysics are discussed.
