Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the bio-efficacy and phytotoxicity of Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 3% + Clothianidin 1.2% GR against major paddy pests during Kharif, 2020 and Rabi, 2021. The treatments were: T<subscript>1</subscript> - Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 3% + Clothianidin 1.2% GR @ 225+90 g a.i./ha; T<subscript>2</subscript> - Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 3% + Clothianidin 1.2% GR @ 300+120 g a.i./ha; T<subscript>3</subscript> - Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 3% + Clothianidin 1.2% GR @ 375+150 g a.i./ ha; T<subscript>4</subscript> - Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 4% GR @ 500 g a.i./ha; T<subscript>5</subscript> - Clothianidin 50% WDG @ 12 g a.i./ha and T<subscript>6</subscript> - Clothianidin 50% WDG @ 125 g a.i./ha, T<subscript>7</subscript> - Cartap hydrochloride 4% GR @ 1000 g a.i./ha and T<subscript>8</subscript> -Untreated check. Results revealed that, all the treatments were effective in controlling stem borer damage, leaf folder damage, Brown planthopper and White backed plant hopper population and significant increase in yield but among the tested chemicals Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate 3% + Clothianidin 1.2% GR @ 375+150 and 300+120 g a.i./ha showed highest control of pests at 20 days after treatment. The test compound was found to be relatively safe to natural enemies in the paddy ecosystem and also did not cause any kind of phytotoxicity [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
