The article presents the discussion on animal lives showing the focus of a great deal of careful attention and analysis. Topics include Benavides and Caviedes focusing the attention on the role played by ‘rumours' within human–wildlife conflicts through analysis of perceptions of predator behaviour; and increasing biodiversity along with increased opportunities for recreation, tourism, and connection to nature.
