2022 FOUR WHEELER PICKUP TRUCK OF THE YEAR.

In celebration of Four Wheeler's 60th anniversary in 2022 we invited several past staffers to join us on the 2022 Four Wheeler Pickup Truck of the Year test and each brought with them years of experience in off-road and new vehicle testing THE JUDGES' PREFERRED PICKUPS SEAN HOLMAN FOUR WHEELER CONTENT DIRECTOR There were so many good trucks in this test, and as much as the Raptor is aiming to be the ultimate pickup, there was one truck in the test that felt a little more casual, a little more relaxed, and was a little more well-rounded. The truck was an absolute blast to drive in the sand as well - with the transfer case switched to low-range the truck's traction control systems stayed out of the way enough to let the truck absolutely dominate the dunes. This is evidenced in our own testing as well, as the Raptor won our Pickup Truck of the Year award with its first-generation truck in 2011, its second generation in 2017, and now with the most recent '21 F-150 Raptor. Many of our judges noted that while the truck's added width at first appeared to be prohibitive on tight trail sections, taking a slightly different approach to the obstacles actually enabled the big truck to do more and go farther.
