Abstract
- In patients with ruptured HCC receiving transarterial chemoembolization, a higher haemoglobin level indicates a longer 30-day survival [[4]], which is consistent with the statement that the TAE patients who die within a short period are mostly due to haemorrhage-related complications [[5]]. MELD-Na and short-term outcome of patients with ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma receiving transarterial embolization In a recent issue of I Abdominal Radiology i , Jundt MC et al. retrospectively analysed the demographic and clinical data of 24 patients with ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) receiving emergent transarterial embolization (TAE), attempting to locate factors that are favourable or unfavourable for the short-term (30-day and 90-day) mortality after hospitalization [[1]].
