Research Progress on Effect of Impregnation Treatment on Dimensional Stability of Wood.

Fast growing wood in planted forest had defects such as low mechanical strength, poor dimensional instability, etc.. In order to achieve efficient utilization of wood, it was necessary to be modified to improve its properties, and impregnation treatment was a common method of modification.In this paper, the mechanism of wood impregnation modification was briefly introduced, and the related researches on the improvement of wood dimensional stability by impregnation of fast growing wood were reviewed, including the impregnation modification of organic and inorganic materials and the combination of impregnation modification of both, impregnation modification combined with high-temperature heat treatment, etc., and the research direction of wood impregnation modification was pointed out.
