Abstract
- The patients who received treatment for more than 48 h included two with clinical signs, elevated CRP and positive gastric aspirate cultures, who were treated for six and 10 days, respectively. Abbreviations EOS early-onset sepsis CRP C-reactive protein Early-onset sepsis (EOS) has been associated with a particularly high rate of mortality and morbidity in preterm neonates,1,2 and many patients receive empirical antibiotics at birth, regardless of whether they have an infection.
