Abstract

By means of chemical analysis, polarizing microscope, scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrometer, the chemical composition, mineral composition, mineral distribution relationship, niobium element distribution and mineral size of aegirine ore in Bayan Obo East Mine were studied. The results show that the main niobium minerals in the ore are pyrochlore, niobite, ilmenorutile, aeschynite, fergusonite and baotite; The distribution rate of niobium in minerals is pyrochlore 46. 89%9 ilmenorutile 11.46% g ergusonite 5.89% aeschynite 4.57% niobite 3.91% and baotite 2.5%; Niobium mineral dissemination particle size is fine; Niobium minerals are closely related to rare earth minerals, iron minerals, aegirine and amphibole gangue minerals. Fine mineral granularity, many kinds of minerals and complex distribution relationship among minerals are the difficult problems in later separation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
