Abstract
- The trifluoropyl methyldimethoxysilane ( TMDS) was used as constitution controller to treat the hydroxyl groups on the surface of silica, and then the treated silica was applied on fluorosilicone rubber. The powder-eating efficiency, physical properties, oil resistance and heat resistance of fluorosilicone rubber were investigated and compared with that of fluorosilicone rubber prepared with dimethyldimethoxysilane. The results show that TMDS can effectively reduce the hydroxyl content on the surface of silica, improve the powder-eating efficiency in kneading. The fluorosilicone rubber exhibits a good mechanical properties and oil resistance, while decreases the heat resistance slightly. With the increase of TMDS in fluorosilicone rubber, the tensile properties of fluorosilicone rubber increases first and then decreases, besides its elongation at break increases, and the compression set decreases.
