Abstract
- The article examines representations of insects and insect habitats in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Dutch art and print culture. It considers the ecologically conceived image of insect activity featured in the Life of plants and animals lithograph by Theo van Hoytema. It also mentions art of pollination which relate to artistic, scientific, and popular practices of representing and experiencing the natural world.
