Abstract

The article describes two cases of ventricular shunt complications in pulmonary and critical care medicine. The first patient is a 29-year-old man who developed subcutaneous emphysema from the neck to the scrotum and bowel perforation as complication of ventriculoperitoneal shunts (VPS). The second patient is a 56-year-old woman who developed bronchospasm and central venous thrombosis with collateralization.
