Abstract

To evaluate whether the cervical sliding sign (CSS) can predict the outcome of induction of labour (IoL). Similar figures have been found for multiparous patients, who showed higher rate of D24 (86,8% vs 17.1%, p = 0,01) and shorter Latency (11 ±7.6 vs 16.7 ±9.1 hours, p < 0.01) and TtD (13.8 ±8.7 vs 19.6 ±9.6 hours, p < 0.001) compared to parous women with no CSS. In nulliparous patients the presence of CSS was associated with an increased frequency of D24 (52.4% vs 24.6%, p < 0.01) and shorter latency (30 ±10.7 vs 20.1 ±10.8 hours, p < 0.01) and TtD (24.9±12.1 vs 30 ±10.7, p = 0.01) compared to nulliparae with no CSS.
