Abstract

Fetal goiter is an extremely rare complication of pregnancy. The goiter was not clinically apparent and the newborn with an euthyroid status was discharged home on the second day of life with levothyroxine treatment. In-utero treatment with 400 mcg levothyroxine injected weekly into the amniotic sac, and later increased to 600 mcg resulted in a progressive reduction of the goiter (area 1.60 cm SP 2 sp near term).
