Abstract

Methods A non-consecutive series of normal fetuses undergoing first trimester screening scan was assessed by a single experienced operator. Conclusions The ultrasound evaluation of the maxilla and upper lip on the axial plane is feasible at the 11+0-13+6 weeks' scan. To evaluate the feasibility of the visualisation of the maxilla and upper lip on the axial plane at 11+0-13+6 weeks of gestation, and to evaluate the sensitivity of the view in the detection of orofacial clefts (OFC).
