Abstract

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in recent weeks has moved toward allowing private for‐profit opioid treatment programs (OTPs) to access the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) block grant. First, in an Aug. 4 letter, SAMHSA directed states to allow the block grant to be used to help for‐profit OTPs procure methadone vans (see "SAMHSA says SAPT BG can be used to procure methadone vans," ADAW, Aug. 23; https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.33174).
