Abstract
- In I Paper Emperors i , Sally Young provides a magisterial account of the interrelations between the corporate interests and political connections of Australia's major newspaper proprietors to the 1940s. All in all, Young concludes that "The daily newspapers were so unusually politically homogeneous" that they had "a major impact upon the nature of political debate" and upon "political elites" (p. 125).
