Children and adolescents with ADHD often struggle with social functioning difficulties. How can these impairments be explained? Several domains are considered, such as social skills, social information processing, social cognition, peer functioning. These domains are discussed based on results of previous research and analyzed considering cognitive and neuropsychological underlying mechanisms as well. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
