Interest shown by the U.S. in educational institutions which American religious bodies have founded in Turkey; Presence of a large number of Armenian and Greek schools in Turkey; Presumption that any foreign school has designs which are hostile to Turkish nationalism; Factors determining the political slant of French educational and religious activities; Ways in which the Turks approach the question of the activities of the American educational institutions; Reasons why the current state of problems in Turkish educational system could not have been avoided.
