An editorial is presented on the "Magnesium in Human Health and Disease". The article discusses that Magnesium acts both as a signalling element and a metabolite in cell physiology, and its homeostasis is regulated by the balance between intestinal absorption and renal excretion; and Hypomagnesemia is probably the most underestimated electrolyte imbalance in Western countries.
