Abstract

This paper is an attempt to identify and evaluate the critical success factors (CSFs) responsible for the success of public private partnership (PPP) road projects in Gujarat, a state in western India. 44 CSFs were identified from extensive literature survey and interaction with experts. A questionnaire was designed with responses to be given for the identified CSFs by experienced PPP practitioners of India. Questionnaire survey responses were analyzed using coefficient of variance method, factor analysis method, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test and independent t-test. The results of the factor analysis showed that out of 44 CSFs, 18 CSFs appear to be most critical. Further, out of 20 CSFs identified through coefficient of variation method, 15 CSFs were found to be similar to the 18 CSFs identified through factor analysis method. The results of one way ANOVA test revealed that 8 factors were considered to be significantly different among the group of respondents. Independent t-test was conducted for these 8 factors to observe the difference between two mutual respondents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
