Abstract

The article focuses on a medical case where the patient had psoriasis verruciformis. The patient was a 37-year old woman farm worker presented to the skin department of Government General Hospital in Madras, India with complaints of an itchy hyperpigmented linear lesion in the right lower extremity and an ulcerative fleshy mass in the right ankle. Linear hypertrophic lichen planus, linear epidermal nevus, linear porokeratosis of Mibelli, tuberculosis cutis, deep mycosis and cutaneous leishmaniasis were considered and the proliferative lesion was thought to be squamous cell carcinoma. Histopathologic findings proved otherwise and the diagnosis derived was psoriasis verruciformis.
