Abstract

Presents information on Christianity and its relation with naturalism. Discussion of a controversy between the Bishop of New York and the Rector; Expression of a doubt about the meaning of Christianity which is one of the most fundamental in its history; Report that the Episcopal Church will take on the character of a political rather than a religious body; View that a religious body needs to tolerate radically different ways of conducting practical activities for the sake of vindicating a common vision of religious truth; Discussion of the real danger to Christianity; Opinion on Christianity that will not only survive a thoroughgoing loyalty to naturalism; Discrepancy between scientific and religious truth, is, not to ignore its existence or to compromise it but to combine the two into an effective working union.
