Abstract
- The anion exchange behavior of <superscript>255</superscript>No produced by the <superscript>248</superscript>Cm(<superscript>12</superscript>C,5n) reaction has been investigated in 11.5M HCl, 4M HCl and 8M HNO<subscript>3</subscript> to deduce the behavior of 'primordial <superscript>257</superscript>No' produced via <superscript>248</superscript>Cm(<superscript>18</superscript>O,5n)<superscript>261</superscript>Rf →α <superscript>257</superscript>No before anion exchange separation in the <superscript>261</superscript>Rf experiment. It was found that <superscript>255</superscript>No is mostly eluted from the anion exchange column with these solutions. The contribution of 'primordial <superscript>257</superscript>No' to the α-decay events of <superscript>261</superscript>Rf in the <superscript>261</superscript>Rf experiment was evaluated based on the present results.
