Abstract

According to the 2020 Social Progress Index, estimates imply that the world will not reach the SDGs until 2092, 62 years behind the 2030 schedule, due to, among other reasons, the Covid-19 pandemic. The transition to new social models, based on the circular economy, energy efficiency and resilience to climate change, in parallel with deep and global transformations, accelerated with the current pandemic. Therefore, innovation has become essential as well as the need to assess and manage its social Impacts. This study focuses on the problem that organizations face when considering sustainability issues, analyzing the pathway to Innovate, Evaluate and Report the Impact. For that purpose, it resorts to materiality assessment as a pillar to create value thanks to disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. The research proposes a Sustainability Management Strategic Maturity-Model to assess progress from a compliance approach to a stage that leverages sustainability for the creation of long-term value.
