Abstract

This paper puts its focus on a problem concerning digitalization, managerial behaviour and productivity. Applying a systematic literature review it can be said that there is a research gap: Academia does not understand precisely how managerial behaviour and managerial decisions transcribe a digital strategy and options from digital innovations into economic success and productivity. The main findings from business studies stress insights about the combination of processes, techniques and people as well as leadership to be essential to push productivity. Influences on productivity come from (agile) value co-creation, different aspects of partnership governance, stakeholder relations (esp. customers) and variations of leadership. Other disciplines highlight the importance of data driven methods, data-security, -use and -storage. All these factors on productivity can be influenced by managerial behaviour.
