The article presents the information on the Laser Institute of America has selected physician Leon Goldman, current Director of Laser Research and Director of the Laser Treatment Center at the Cincinnati Jewish Hospital, as the 1985 recipient of the Arthur L. Schawlow Award, endowed this year by laser Fare Ltd., of Smithfield, Rhode Island. The award is given annually to recognize individuals who have made distinguished contributions in applications of lasers for science, industry, or education. Goldman has received numerous awards both nationally and internationally for his contributions to and excellence in the fields of laser surgery, medicine and art.
