Abstract

The article looks at a report from National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) as per which the U.S. entered into a recession in March 2020, a result of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. It mentions need to prevent the spread of COVID-19, lockdown orders were issued in many parts and travel restrictions were put in place. It also mentions economy has improved since the second quarter of 2020, including highest single quarterly increase in gross domestic product (GDP).
