Abstract

In this paper, an electromagnet power energy harvester is proposed and experimented that using galloping force to achieve wind energy converting into usable electricity. When the device is subjected to a relative low wind speed excited, due to the galloping force, the square prism vibrates at a certain angle in the direction perpendicular to the wind excitation. To achieve multiple directions wind energy scavenging purpose, a 3 × 3 magnets array is determined to obtain the maximum flux changing rate at multiple directions of wind. It is indicated that the proposed energy harvester exists a maximum power 0.124 mW at 2.0 m/s. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
