Abstract
- Presents a comparison between the features of current and prior women magazines. Inclusion of sentimental fiction, essays, biographical sketches, short articles on literature, art, travel, poetry and music in the new magazines; Statement that there were fashion departments, departments of cookery, needlework, architecture, home decoration and beauty in each magazine whether old or new; View that virtually no discussions of public issues like politics, education, employment and so on occur in the magazines of either period; Reflection of the fact that no current women's magazines enlighten their readers in regard to the modern world of which they are a part.
