Reports on sporadic labor strikes, which have broken out in Great Britain. Demand of strikers for a substantial reduction in working hours; Premature acceptance of forty-seven hours a week by engineering trades; Decision of the Scottish Trades Union Congress in favor of a general strike movement for a forty-hours week; Need for immediate action on the part of the government to deal with the hours question on a national basis; Claims of labor for more adequate leisure and a better chance to lead a pleasant and reasonable life; Absorption of returning soldiers and war workers to the industry, who were suffering discharge.
