Abstract
- Discusses the importance of having a commitment to birth control. Decision of husbands and wives on how many children they shall have; Percentage of the decline in birth rate in England attributed to voluntary restriction of births within marriage; Observation that big families live in small houses and little families live in big houses; Technical difficulties presented by city life in child rearing; Opposition in France to the prevailing two-child system because it leads to social particularism and to a lack of ambition.
