- Focuses on the victory of dictatorship over democracy as German dictator Adolf Hitler has been successful in getting his demands fulfilled in Europe. Increasing influence of Hitler in Europe; Inability of the Soviet Union, Great Britain and France to stop him; Failure of the Treaty of Versailles signed after the First World War, which pledged world peace by collective security; Division of Europe into congeries of states incapable of working as a cohesive unit; Discontent in Germany over the economic situation imposed on them; Emergence of two radical groups, Communists and Nazis, in Europe; Criticism of French and British policy for providing enough time to Hitler to gain power in Europe.
