DTI takes AIM for RFID scheme.

This article reports that a DTF initiative to set up a network of Radio frequency indentification systems (RFID) technology centres is to be led by AIM UK from its headquarters in Sheffield. AIM UK is the industry association representing RFID, bar coding and other automatic identification technologies in Great Britain. The DTI's electronics unit said that RFID is the single fastest growing application sector it has identified. Longer term plans include a European Centre of Excellence for automatic identification and data collection technologies and a national RFID centre.
