Abstract

A computational approach to the determination and evaluation of internal stresses arising in functional coatings on the parts of machines during operation at high temperatures is explained. The method for calculation of temperature on the coating–metal base adhesion boundary is suggested in this study. The possibility of controlling acceptable mechanical stresses in the coating depending on its thickness and operating temperature, as well as the chemical and phase composition of the material of base and coating, is explained.
