Abstract

An interleaved parallel high step‐up DC‐DC converter with cross‐coupled inductors for low current/voltage ripple and auto‐current sharing was proposed in this paper. This converter applies interleaved parallel input which decreases the input current ripple significantly. Due to the interleaved coupling effect of three coils of the cross‐coupled inductors, this converter can realize automatic current sharing under asymmetric distribution of duty ratio of switch control signal or coupled inductors. By using the leakage inductance of coupled inductors, the proposed DC‐DC converter has high voltage gains and small voltage stress of the main switches and output diodes. Moreover, the proposed converter solves the reverse recovery problem of the output diodes at the minimum loss. In addition, its power switches realize zero‐current turn on. In this paper, working principle is analyzed thoroughly and performance of this topological circuit is verified through a prototype with 1 kW output. © 2021 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
