Abstract

A copper-cobalt ore in Africa contains copper 2.11% and cobalt 0.090%. The cobalt is difficult to be recovered because the cobalt grade is lower relatively, and also the cobalt mineral grain size is not uniform, and the symbiosis relationship between chalcopyrite and pyrite is complex, which seriously affect the recovery of cobalt minerals. According to the properties of the raw ore, the flotation flowsheet of priority in order of copper and cobalt was adopted, combined with the use of high-efficiency selective collector BKAP, the comprehensive recovery of copper and cobalt resources was realized. The copper concentrate obtained in the laboratory had a copper grade of 35.08% and a copper recovery of 93.42%. The grade of cobalt concentrate is 2.27% and the recovery of cobalt is 51.82%.
