Abstract

The simple and cost-effective compound [Ag(O<subscript>2</subscript>CNEt<subscript>2</subscript>)], in combination with PPh<subscript>3</subscript>, works as an effective catalytic precursor in the carboxylation of propargyl alcohols at ambient temperature and atmospheric CO<subscript>2</subscript> pressure, and in most cases under solventless conditions. The silver carbamate revealed a better performance than commercial silver oxide, Ag<subscript>2</subscript>O, and allowed to obtain a series of α-alkylidene cyclic carbonates in high yields.
