Abstract

The article presents a paper, which formulates a general problem of electromagnetic wave analysis to a boundary element problem. The case of perfect conductors is also discussed. The boundary element method is applied to the analysis of cylindrical and rectangular shaped cavities. Results obtained by the said method are compared with those by the analytical method. The most typical boundary conditions for perfect conductor are expressed as H<subscript>n</subscript> - E<subscript>t1</subscript> - E<subscript>t2</subscript> - 0. It is very useful that in the proposed method the boundary conditions can be expressed in terms of these quantities when using the finite element boundary element hybrid method.
