Abstract

Additionally, livedoid/necrotic lesions were associated with worse clinical outcomes,1 nevertheless, deceased patients were not evaluated, and just 4.3% of patients needed intensive care, probably leading to the underestimation of this feature. Most data on cutaneous manifestations of COVID-19 rely on the evaluation of hospitalized patients.1,2 Conversely, as COVID-19 requires social isolation, many low-symptomatic individuals develop dermatologic manifestations which prevalence is underestimated.3 The prevalence of skin lesions was 20% among 88 Italian hospitalized patients.4 To date, the frequency of skin manifestations in overall COVID-19-infected patients was not investigated. Despite the limitations of this method, it can be useful in COVID-19 epidemiologic research.3 This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of dermatologic manifestations reported by patients with COVID-19 using an electronic survey.
