Abstract
- Using the dynamical cluster decay model (DCM), the fission dynamics of Z=120 superheavy nucleus formed via <superscript>64</superscript>Ni+<superscript>238</superscript>U→<superscript>302</superscript>120<superscript>∗</superscript> reaction is analyzed. The fission excitation functions and average total kinetic energy (TKE̅) distribution are addressed by including static as well as temperature-dependent (T-dependent) deformations. The cross-sections calculated using collective clusterization method find decent agrement with the available data. Beside this, the role of hot and cold optimum orientations is explored, which suggests the asymmetric mass distribution for head on collisions and symmetric fragmentation for pole-to-pole interactions of colliding nuclei.
