Unlike postpartum hemorrhage and preeclampsia, much fewer reports were focused on the associations between D-dimer and preterm birth and fetal distress. Further, the elevation of D-dimer was found to be associated with increased risks of preeclampsia, fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage and a decreased risk of preterm delivery in our retrospective study.
