Emulgels can be efficient tools of delivering drugs topically. Quite often cosmeceuticals and Pharmaceuticals can be formulated as emulgels for efficient delivery of hydrophobic drugs. Emulgels have dual characteristics of gels and emulsions. Components to be included in emulgels are oil phase surface active agents and drugs and gelling Agents.
